Also known as bottle brush Callistemon belongs to a genus with about 34 species. Most of the species are endemic to Australia and have red flowers. The plant grows slowly, but can reach a height up to seven metres.

Other features:
Because of their native habitat the plants should be cultivated in moderate fertile soil. During the summer season it needs to be watered regularly, during the winter it does not need much water. Contrary to C. laevis this specie has branches which are overhanging.
